Presidents Day

United States Presidents Day; a day for merchants to make hay.

The banks may close; however store clerks will have a busy day.

A day once used to celebrate Washington’s birthday; now we gather to just say, “Hey.”

Who can name all the Presidents; and come up with all their related incidents?

Things they did in a moment or rage; or just while trying to be sage.

This celebration varies from state to state; some ignore it to clear the slate.

The post office takes time off; to hold their images aloft.

There are Stories hidden in Presidential libraries, too much time has passed;

the stories turn as brown as grass.
